2012 BOTY

This indidvidual’s musical exposure began like most of us with family and friends at church while growing up.  His father dabbled with ensemble singing with his own brothers, so this could have been the seed that planted a future for the love of barbershop harmony for our B.O.T.Y.
Musical training for this person is also like most, it began in school.  School choir and band, gave him the platform to perform in front of an audience.  After high school it was the church choir that kept his musical talent occupied.
Besides pitching in to help with everything that needs doing when we do a performance, this person has also constructed a few items that the Chordhustlers use.
This person grew up in the 60s, graduated in ’71 from Jeffers High School.  He has farmed in the Jeffers area ever since.  He married a high school classmate/sweetheart–Cathy.  They have two daughters: Diane lives in Alaska along with her husband, Jay, and their two children, Brook and Ryker.  Chris (Christina) lives in Sioux Falls.
His twenty plus years of singing with the Chodhustlers is complimented with his church choir singing, BARC Christmas singing and all around community mindedness.
This year’s barbershopper of the year is: Tim Carlblom!
