If the Lord be Willin’

Todays the day.

Last night the chorus met for its pre show rehearsal.  It was a time to set up the stage and get our first practice with the MC.  As expected we still had a few things that needed fine tuning.  Not being quite ready helps to tune up the mind.  We know what we have to do and how to do it, we just need to focus to do the job right.

Today we will start about noon with our last practice.  We’ll get to meet the guest quartets and work under the lights.  Then it’s into our tuxes and on stage for the 2:30 and 7:00 shows.  We will get a little time off to relax between shows, but need to stay in the show in our mind.

I’ve been at this for 36 years now and show day is always exciting.  The emotions you give to the crowd and they give back are incredible.  If you do a good job, the audience will feed you such energy that you are almost flying.  If you do a poor job, there is nothing.  We hope to have you off your seat today.  The music is great and the day is supposed to be rainy so there is no reason to stay away.  Hope to see you all in a few hours.
